The Signal, redband trailer that isn’t
A “redband” trailer has just been posted for The Signal, a horror movie that may or may not suck.
Why put “redband” in quotes? Well, technically it is a redband trailer (meaning it can’t be screened before anything less than an R rated movie) but why is it a redband trailer. There’s no nudity, I didn’t hear an F bomb, and the violence didn’t seem to be anything I couldn’t see on the FX network. It seems that the marketing folks for the studios have adopted redband trailers as a way to hype a theatrical movie the same way that they use “unrated” for DVD’s.
Right now it’s on youtube so I’ll embed it here, but expect it to be pulled shortly to force you over to the IGN promotional site so they can “verify” your age before letting you see this cinematic masterpiece.
